Pitcher Partners backs a winner in AHA Newcastle Hunter Charity Race Day

For the past seven years, the AHA Newcastle Hunter Charity Race Day has been a staple on the local hospitality industry’s social calendar.

And, during that time, it’s raised more than $600,000 for Variety – the Children’s Charity and other not-for-profit groups.

In 2022, a new partnership with financial services firm Pitcher Partners will see the event into its eighth edition at the Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday 30 April.

Variety, its annual NSW Variety Bash and other worthy causes are among the beneficiaries again.

“Supporting charity organisations has always been important for us,” AHA Newcastle Hunter president Mick Starkey said.

“The Variety Bash, in particular, is a great fit for our industry.

“Over the years many of our hoteliers and industry associates have taken part in the event, which sees participants travel to schools in regional NSW providing vital funding and support.

“As an industry, we’re all about assisting local communities.

“So, it makes sense for us to get involved.

“Welcoming Pitcher Partners on board as the major sponsor of the race day means we can continue raising money for this great cause and we couldn’t be happier to have them involved.”

Likewise, the team at Pitcher Partners is also thrilled to participate in the meeting.

“While we pride ourselves on providing the best advice and service to our clients, we also have a strong focus on social responsibility and giving back,” spokesperson Jason Butler said.

“Being able to support the AHA Newcastle Hunter Charity Race Day, which then, in turn, supports kids in rural NSW who are living with a disability or financial hardship is something we are extremely proud to do.

“We’re all looking forward to the AHA Newcastle Hunter Charity Race Day at the Newcastle Racecourse on Saturday 30 April.”
