Piping hot pizza on the menu at Lake Macquarie

Pizza lovers in Lake Macquarie can get their hands on some fresh, piping hot pizza after Domino’s Mount Hutton opened its doors today.

Local franchisee Steven Gilbert said he was thrilled to fire up the oven in the Hunter to satisfy the tastebuds of hungry residents.

“As a business owner, I understand it is a privilege to be able to operate and safely feed those in the community during this time,” he stated.

“I am very excited about the opening of my seventh store, in Mount Hutton, and know I’m very lucky to be expanding my business right now.

“Not only is the opening of this store a great opportunity to reach more customers, but I’m also proud that this new venture will create 20 new jobs for locals in Lake Macquarie.

“Domino’s is a people-first business, and our stores are a great place to gain important life skills and grow both as an individual and professionally.

“Currently, we are looking for 20 newcomers to join our team to help us deliver piping hot pizzas to residents.

“I encourage anyone out of work, looking for a change, or even for their first job to apply.”

Mr Gilbert first joined Domino’s as delivery expert in 2001, before working his way up the ranks from driver, to store manager and then regional manager and even Western Australia state manager.

It wasn’t until 2010, when he fell in love with the idea of earning his own “crust” that he took the opportunity for the next step in his pizza journey – making the leap to become a franchisee of Domino’s Rockingham.

With more than 20 years of pizza experience, Mr Gilbert said he was proud to be able to expand his store network, helping employ more than 250 people across NSW and Queensland.

Passionate about being present with his new team and getting involved with the local community, he added he was delighted that Domino’s Mount Hutton will provide locals with safe, hot meals.

“These challenging times have highlighted just how important it is to look out for your local community,” he said.
