PHOTOS: Exhibition builds joy across Newcastle

“Wow, that’s really cool.”

Those were the words that left almost every child’s mouth at the opening of the Brickman Awesome exhibition at Newcastle Entertainment Centre today.

The exhibition from Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught featured 36 LEGO models, which included the world’s first life-size LEGO Harley Davidson, a three-metre tall killer whale, a Caterpillar 797 dump truck, and a model of the Eiffel Tower.

The various models took around six months to build with a mammoth two million LEGO bricks.

When McNaught spoke to the Newcastle Weekly earlier this month, he said he was excited to bring some joy to Newcastle and show the community his passion.

“In the time that we are in now, any chance to provide someone with joy is great,” he said.

“My team and I have had a great time building all these record-breaking models, so I can’t wait to share them with fans and families in Newcastle.”

McNaught’s Brickman Awesome exhibition will go until Sunday 18 October.
