A triumphant Lake Macquarie man has been left feeling like a “Keno king” after securing a massive quarter of a million-dollar windfall.
The Pelican resident scored the Keno Classic 9 Spot jackpot in draw 206 on Monday 2 June.
He’s now looking forward to pocketing $248,088.30.
When an official from Keno spoke to him, the regular player shared he followed a personal tactic of selecting numbers on his coupon that were closer together.
“I’m great,” he laughed.
“I’ve gotten out of the hospital recently, so it’s amazing news for me.
“I have a strategy where I choose numbers that are close together.
“I’ve won a fair bit before, including $10,000 a couple of times, so it seems like it’s not a bad way to play.
“You could say I’m a Keno king.
“It’ll really come in handy. I might be able to put it towards a place of my own.”
His winning Keno classic entry was purchased at The Orana Hotel, Blacksmiths.
Licensee and partner David Segreto said the team was over the moon to sell a major winning ticket.
“We were very excited on hearing the win… and waiting in anticipation to see which one of our locals was the winner,” he added.
“We knew it would be life-changing for them.
“The winner was a very happy guy… and all the locals are thrilled for him.
“He’s now celebrating the win with his friends in the venue.
“He is a loyal mate, who’s had some health issues in the past year.
“So, it’s great to see what this money can do to help him in retirement.
“We wish him the best of health, happiness and friendship for the future.
“Our motto is ‘Life’s Good at the O’ and how good we can help someone’s life be that little bit better [today].”
