A cyclist died after being hit by a truck near Bulahdelah, closing the Pacific Highway in one direction on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the major throughfare, near Bombah Point Road, just after 6am on 22 December, following reports a bike rider was struck.
NSW Ambulance paramedics attempted to treat the cyclist, who is yet to identified, however they died at the scene.
The truck driver – a 58-year-old man – was taken to Manning Base Hospital at Taree for mandatory testing.
An investigation into the circumstances of the crash has started.
However, the Pacific Highway remains closed to southbound traffic, while diversions are also in place.
