One in hospital after house fire in Lake Macquarie

SHARE

A man has been taken to hospital after collapsing in a house fire at Argenton in Lake Macquarie this morning.

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews were alerted to reports of the incident just before 8am and on arrival they found the home well alight.

The man was located inside and a firefighter worked with a nurse to deliver CPR until NSW Ambulance Paramedics arrived.

Firefighters contained and extinguished the fire within an hour.

The cause of the blaze is being determined.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.
