Newcastle is set to once again welcome live entertainment, with the former steel city hosting three new cabaret shows in the silly season.
After successfully debuting the sold out rock and roll variety cabaret Wild Side at 48 Watt Street, earlier this month, the producers behind Newcastle based award-winning variety show OMGWTF have created another two shows for Hunter audiences, hitting venues between December and February.
Kicking off with OMGWTF It’s Christmas! on 4 December at The Gal, in Hamilton, the show will feature the original award-winning line up as well as three fresh-faced Hunter-based artists from the shows Artist Mentorship program supported by City of Newcastle.
Then, the new monthly resident dinner and show Church On Thursday will debut on 16 December at The Well Bar and will feature a rotation of both Hunter and out of town burlesque and variety entertainers.
Another date for the next Wild Side has also been locked away, presenting on 29 January at The Playhouse, with tickets going on sale Wednesday 28 November at 11am.
The confirmation of performance dates has been a long time coming for OMG WTF producer and performer Hannah Indigo.
“It’s been such a tough time for the entertainment industry, we’re so excited to be back and be able to share what we’ve been working on,” she said.
“It has felt so good to be welcomed back with open arms by audiences!”.
OMG WTF presents live shows with an array of elements designed to shock and entertain adult audiences.
“[It’s] A heady mix of Burlesque, Circus, Drag, Sideshow and Magic, this show is so hot it will leave you gasping…for more,” Ms Indigo says.
“It is THE place for weird and wonderful variety acts to be excessively loud and proud.
“With a stellar line-up featuring the talents of nine local and out of town performers, OMG WTF is the definition of bang for your buck (with some bonus brazen booty).
