Off-duty officer charged with high-range PCA after Lake Macquarie crash

An off-duty police officer has been charged with high-range PCA following a single-vehicle crash at Lake Macquarie.

About 8.40pm on Monday 28 March, officers attached to Lake Macquarie Traffic and Highway Patrol attended Goodwins Road, Morisset, following reports of an accident.

The driver – an off-duty Senior Constable attached to a specialist command – allegedly refused a roadside breath test and was arrested.

The 43-year-old woman was taken to Toronto Police Station.

There, she underwent a breath analysis, which returned an alleged reading of 0.208.

The officer was issued a court attendance notice for refuse or fail to submit to breath test and drive with high-range PCA.

She is due to appear at Toronto Local Court on Monday 16 May.

Her licence has also been suspended.
