An air-conditioning unit appears to have sparked a blaze, which ripped through a Newcastle home on Monday night.
About 50 Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) personnel, and seven trucks, were tasked to Tooke Street, Bar Beach, just after 7.30pm on 11 May.
On arrival, they found the roof of the two-storey property alight, with flames spreading to the top of the premises.
The crews extinguished the fire about 10.30pm, with some firefighters remaining at the scene to assist with the clean-up operation.
Thankfully, no one was hurt and the sole occupant managed to self-evacuate.
An investigation into the cause is continuing.
