NSW Fair Trading suspends Anthony Di Nardo for misconduct

SHARE

NSW Fair Trading has suspended prominent Lake Macquarie real estate agent Anthony Di Nardo until July 2027.

It’s understood the consumer protection regulator found him “not fit and proper to hold a licence”.

The ruling follows disciplinary process under the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002.

NSW Fair Trading released findings that Mr Di Nardo engaged in a pattern of inappropriate behaviour that occurred while he was operating as a licensed real estate agent and in a position of authority within licensed businesses.

Commissioner Natasha Mann admitted it was important to take such a vital stance.

“We’ve suspended Mr Di Nardo’s licence until its expiry to immediately remove him from the industry,” she explained.

“Licence holders, particularly those in positions of authority, are expected to demonstrate sound judgment and professional conduct in work-related settings.

“When those standards fall short, NSW Fair Trading will take appropriate and proportionate regulatory action.

“The community is entitled to have confidence that those licensed to operate in the real estate industry meet appropriate values of conduct and integrity.”

The disciplinary action taken by NSW Fair Trading is separate from criminal proceedings, which are being progressed by NSW Police and remains a matter for the courts.

Meanwhile, the NSW Fair Trading suspension remains in force until the expiry of Mr Di Nardo’s current licence term next year.

During this time, he is prohibited from operating as a licensed real estate agent.

Any future application would be subject to close regulatory scrutiny.

Disciplinary action taken by NSW Fair Trading is published on the ‘Name and Shame’ List, a public search tool that allows people engaging with the property market to research action taken against licensed real estate agents and strata managing agents.
