One of the region’s most beloved traditions, the Newcastle Show, is set to deliver an exciting technological addition in 2025.
The family-friendly event, set for 29 February to 2 March, will involve several drones illuminating the sky in an encapsulating performance.
A number of special guests were even given a sneak peek of the demonstration this week – and came away excited for the full experience in seven months’ time.
Newcastle Show is collaborating with Drone Sky Shows, an organisation that has been offering captivating visual experiences right across Australia.
So, Novocastrians will get a front row seat at the Broadmeadow venue.
Newcastle Show 2025 manager Drew Ferguson-Tait said organisers were thrilled to expand the event’s horizons.
“We want to create something truly extraordinary for our community,” he explained.
“The drone show will be a first for the Newcastle Show (and Newcastle) and is just one of the new attractions that we’ll be introducing to the program.”
With the extravaganza traditionally known for its agricultural and industrial exhibitions, Mr Ferguson-Tait said it would continue to evolve, reflecting the Novocastrian experience and lifestyle.
Serving as a metaphor for transformation, the drones symbolise the bridging of Newcastle’s proud past and its bright future.
“We’ll be presenting some of the latest technology alongside the tradition that the show is known for,” he said.
“It’s about creating memories that last a lifetime.”
As the countdown begins, the community is encouraged to mark their calendars and prepare for an unforgettable experience that promises to dazzle, inspire and unite.
