If you’re keen to witness a contact sport with a difference, then head to the Newcastle Showground Exhibition Centre next weekend.
The Newcastle Roller Derby League’s skaters are fired up and ready to roll for their home season grand final at the Broadmeadow complex on Saturday November 5.

The encounter will be the last showdown of the year for popular teams the Harbour Hellcats and the Bogey Rollers.
Both outfits have demonstrated impressive strength, skill and teamwork throughout 2022.
So, the decider promises to be spectacular, too.

“The atmosphere at our joint training sessions lately has been palpable,” said league president Zoe Llewellyn, also known as Moxie Monoxide.
“Both sides badly want the final win.
“But, at the end of the day, only one team gets to claim that big shiny trophy.”
Tickets for the grand final are available now from newcastlerollerderby.org.au.
Doors will open at 6pm for a 6.30pm start.
