Maitland football fans will be rewarded for their ongoing support to the Newcastle Jets later this month.
The Hunter-based A-League Men’s (ALM) side is set to tackle the Macarthur Bulls in its Australia Cup round of 16 match at the regional sportsground on Sunday 25 August.
Already the training headquarters for Newcastle, the venue has also hosted several of the Jets’ ALW matches, including the hugely-successful 2024 semi-final.
The Rob Stanton-coached outfit put Western United to the sword 4-1 and backed up with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Rockdale City Suns.
Macarthur, meanwhile, eliminated the O’Connor Knights 2-1.
The winners will progress to the quarter-final in the knockout tournament.
In another coup, Newcastle members can purchase discounted tickets, from Tuesday 13 August, during an exclusive pre-sale window, as well as preferential access to grandstand seating and car parking.
In all, the round of 16 features 10 member federation teams representing four states and six Isuzu UTE ALM squads, with the victors earning qualification into the 2025-26 AFC Champions League Two.
While the Jets face the Bulls, South Melbourne FC takes on Olympic FC.
On Tuesday 27 August, there’ll be three blockbuster clashes.
Lions FC plays the Western Sydney Wanderers, Hume City FC tackles FC Melbourne Srbija and Western Australia’s Olympic Kingsway locks horns with Adelaide United.
It all wraps up on Wednesday 28 August.
NWS Spirit FC makes its first round of 16 appearance against the Melbourne Victory, the Perth Glory travels to Queensland to meet Moreton City Excelsior FC and Victorian NPL rivals Oakleigh Cannons FC and Heidelberg United FC go head-to-head.
Newcastle’s home fixture kicks off at 3pm with gates to open at 1.30pm.
