New year, new garden

Rich Wigley, from Blue Sky Landscaping, offers some top tips when planning for your new garden.

Building your dream exterior space can be costly. Establish the budget early with the designer/architect to ensure what is on the paper is affordable in real life. They can’t always get it completely accurate but having a ball park figure of what you are prepared to spend will reduce the chance of having a beautiful set of paper plans and an unfinished construction project.

We have a vision for beautiful gardens, that’s what we are great at! But you also need a designer you can work with to create YOUR dream space. Collaboration and communication are key to a successful design, that you can afford to build. Find ideas on social media. Collect photos you love and share them with your designer for a garden that’s uniquely you.

Explore some options for paving, stonework, timber and concrete surfaces you would like to include in the design. Create a material palette and get samples to feel what you really like in person.

Find a landscape construction specialist that you can trust and rely on to build to plan, or a company that can oversee the entire project lifecycle. This streamlined approach keeps it simple and makes the whole process a lot smoother. Recognise your exterior space as a significant investment, beyond enhancing curb appeal. It serves as a haven – a sanctuary seamlessly integrated into the ebb and flow of your busy life.
