A state-of-the-art multi-disciplinary clinic is about to set a new standard for women’s health in Newcastle… and Australia.
Founded by Dr Phoebe Walsh, Dr Kate Haggar, Dr Frida Carswell and Dr Ashmita Desai, Brightwell Health officially opened its doors in Hunter Street on Friday 28 June.
Helping the quartet at the ribbon-cutting ceremony were NSW Minister for Women, and Charlestown MP, Jodie Harrison, Newcastle MP Tim Crakanthorp and City of Newcastle councillor Peta Winney-Baartz.
The practice combines decades of industry experience and dedicated advocacy in the sexual, reproductive and gynaecological health space, driven by the belief that everyone warrants better healthcare.
And, the co-founders are committed to creating an approachable and welcoming environment.
“Empowering our patients to make their own choices, backed by leading-edge research, is at the core of what we do,” Dr Walsh explained.
“We firmly believe people deserve access to high-quality healthcare that respects their individual needs and options,” Dr Carswell added.
“Our approach ensures that patients receive care from their health advocates – a team of specialist general practitioners, gynaecologists, vasectomists and allied health professionals including psychologists, physiotherapists and dietitians, all on site.”
The clinic’s welcoming environment features private consultation rooms, comfortable waiting areas, and accessibility for individuals with disabilities, too.
Last week’s grand opening also included an empowering panel discussion with emcee leadership coach Liz Murray, who interviewed the co-founders, steering an informative discussion on various aspects of sexual, reproductive and gynaecological health and tackling common myths surrounding menopause.
