Would you like tunes with that?
A new food and music event has landed at The Station, Newcastle’s hippest new entertainment platform.
Friday Bar Eats n Beats, hosted by Tangerine Events, takes place each Friday from 4pm to 10pm.
Business owners Danielle Mayes and Nat Brown say they’re excited to kick off the next stage of The Station’s journey, now that the Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation has taken over the site and its temporary activation.
“We are really thrilled to be involved – there is nothing else like The Station in Newcastle, which is what attracted us to create an event for this amazing space,” Mayes said.
“Our event is about people and experiences, and we know from running Twilight Food Market Feast Fest at Speers Point Park and at Blacksmiths Beach, that good food, good music and good people make a winning combination.”
Each Friday, you can find food trucks serving up international cuisine; creative market stalls; live, local music; as well as a free kids’ zone with giant games for the young and young at heart.
The Station also has a licensed bar with craft beer and wine on tap.
Friday Bar Eats n Beats is a free event with free street parking from 5pm.
The closest carparks include Newcastle Foreshore, Bolton Street Carpark and King Street Mall.
There is also free parking at No.2 Sportsground from 5pm, with the light rail running every few minutes from the Newcastle Interchange to the CBD.
