Hunter Valley Highway Patrol will investigate the circumstances of an accident, which claimed the life of a man near Singleton on Friday.
Emergency services were called to the New England Highway at Glennies Creek about 1.40pm on 12 December following reports of a three-vehicle crash.
NSW Ambulance paramedics tended to the driver of a blue Mazda CX5 wagon.
However, the 72-year-old man died at the scene.
The driver and passengers of a Nissan Navara utility removed themselves from the wreckage of their vehicle.
They were also treated by paramedics.
A female passenger, 42, was taken to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
A Toyota Tundra was the third vehicle involved.
But, the driver – a 41-year-old man – wasn’t injured.
A report is now being prepared for the information of the Coroner.
