Police are investigating an accident, which claimed the life of a motorcyclist at Windale on Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of South and Merrigum streets about 9.35am on 17 December following reports of a crash.
At the scene, officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District received information a motorbike collided with a four-wheel-drive, causing the rider to fall from the bike.
The 33-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died on the way to hospital.
The male driver of the 4WD, 53, wasn’t injured.
He was taken to Belmont Hospital for mandatory testing.
Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway.
