A report will be prepared for the Coroner after a motorcyclist died, and another was critically injured, in a crash in the Hunter on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Putty Road, Garland Valley, about 90km west of Cessnock, about 3.20pm on 7 September following information that two motorcycles collided.
Officers attached to the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command assisted one rider – a man aged in his 50s.
But, sadly, he died at the scene.
He is yet to be formally identified.
The other rider – a 58-year-old man – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
Specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit forensically examined the scene.
