A routine motorcycle-stop in the Hunter Valley will prove costly for one man after drugs were found in his possession.

They then stopped the motorcycle at the intersection of Barrett Avenue and Mount View Road at Cessnock a short time later.

Following inquiries, the officers established that the rider’s licence was disqualified and the bike had allegedly been reported stolen from a home in Morpeth in November.

They also located and seized 4g of methamphetamine.

The 49-year-old male was arrested, taken to Cessnock Police Station and charged with use class A vehicle displaying misleading etc numberplate; drive motor vehicle during disqualification period; drive conveyance taken without consent of owner; and possess prohibited drug.

After being refused bail, he’ll face Bail Division Court 2 on Friday 16 January.
