In tragic circumstances, a motorbike rider has died following an accident at Howes Valley on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to Putty Road about 10am on 13 March after receiving reports of a crash in the area.

At the scene, police were told a motorbike and car had collided on a bend.

The rider, believed to be aged in his 60s, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics.

But, sadly, they were unable to revive him.

He’s yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the car – a man in his 80s – was taken by road to the John Hunter Hospital for the treatment of minor injuries and mandatory testing.

His female passenger, aged in her 70s, was airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.

Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are underway by Hunter Valley Police District.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
