Moana will star in Disney on Ice for the first time in the 2019 iteration, Disney on Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends.
The Polynesian princess’ highly-anticipated arrival coincides with the tour’s celebration of 90 years of Mickey Mouse and honours Walt Disney’s legacy by bringing acclaimed stories to life on the ice.
Families can sail away on a high-seas adventure with Moana and demigod, Maui, as she finds the courage to save her island.
This year, Mickey Mouse will be joined by Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy on a journey to discover his favourite memory of all-time, taking spectators on a rollercoaster through the Disney archives.
Using Mickey’s ‘Mouse Pad’, the show’s hosts – including Australian media personality and Disney On Ice fan, Tom Williams – encourage fans to be part of the action and help the gang venture through Disney stories, sharing memorable moments from treasured tales.
Journey to the wintry world of Arendelle as royal sisters Anna and Elsa discover true love; experience the mysterious magic of Fantasia as a Sorcerer’s Apprentice brings brooms to life; follow the unforgettable Dory through the Pacific Ocean; join the Toy Story pals on an exciting adventure and experience every emotion with Inside Out.
The perseverance, determination and hard work of each Disney Princess will inspire the whole family.
Produced by Feld Entertainment, Disney On Ice Celebrates Mickey and Friends opened in Perth last Friday and will travel to Adelaide, Wollongong, Canberra, Brisbane and Melbourne before arriving in Newcastle on Friday 12 July for multiple showings each day until Sunday 14 July.
