A man will face court after injuring another with a knife during an alleged assault in Newcastle on Wednesday.
Emergency services were called to a unit on Watkins Street, Merewether, about 7.20am on 10 December.
At the scene, officers attached to Newcastle City Police District received information the two males were involved in an altercation.
A 46-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for an injury to his head.
As a result, he was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
Following extensive inquiries, officers arrested a 46-year-old male on Ocean Street, Merewether, about 2.30pm on Wednesday 10 December.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station and charged with reckless wounding; armed with intent commit indictable offence; and common assault.
After being refused bail, he’ll appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Thursday 11 December.
