A man is recovering in hospital after his leg became entangled in a rotary hoe at Watagan at the weekend.

Just after 6pm on Sunday 23 January, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service (WRHS) was tasked by NSW Ambulance following reports of a 73-year-old male suffering serious injuries.

Local paramedics attended the scene and began treatment on the man prior to the arrival of the chopper’s Critical Care Medical Team.

The male was then stabilised before being flown direct to the John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition.
