Police inquiries are continuing after a young man died following a workplace accident in Newcastle on Wednesday morning.
About 9am on 5 July, emergency services were called to a worksite on Jacaranda Drive, New Lambton Heights.
It followed reports of a male being trapped at the location.
At the scene, the 20-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to the John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.
Tragically, he died soon after.
Officers from Newcastle City Police District attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialists.
SafeWork NSW has been notified of the incident, while a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
