A report is being prepared for the Coroner after a man died in a two-vehicle crash in Melville on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Maitland Vale Road about 1.40pm on 5 October.
Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District discovered a motorcycle and an SUV had collided.
The rider was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but, sadly, died at the scene.
While he’s yet to be formally identified, it’s believed he is aged in his 60s.
The driver of the SUV – a 56-year-old woman – was uninjured.
She was taken to Maitland Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police have started inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
