A man is set to face court next month after another male received serious facial injuries following an assault at Weston last year.
Emergency services were called to a pub on Cessnock Road just after 11.30pm on Friday 5 December.
On arrival, officers attached to Hunter Valley Police District located a 60-year-old suffering several wounds to his face.
They were informed the man was playing pool before he was assaulted by a male known to him.
After being treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, he was taken to Maitland Hospital for further treatment.
Police then began an investigation into the incident.
Following inquiries, they arrested a 53-year-old on First Street, Booragul, about noon on Tuesday 27 January.
He was conveyed to Toronto Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm and affray.
After being granted conditional bail, he’ll front Toronto Local Court on Tuesday 17 February.
Inquiries are continuing.
