Police have charged a man after he allegedly stabbed another person in Lake Macquarie on Wednesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Railway Street, Belmont, just after 4pm on Wednesday 29 October following reports of an unsavoury incident.
Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District found a 40-year-old male with a stab wound to his upper body.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers arrested a 30-year-old at the scene and escorted him to Belmont Hospital under police guard for treatment of minor injuries.
He was later conveyed to Belmont Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
After being refused bail, he’ll front Bail Division Court 2 on Thursday 30 October.
