A 60-year-old man will face court after a hydroponic cannabis crop was found inside a Lake Macquarie home this week.
Police from the Lake Macquarie Proactive Crime Team attended a premises at Bolton Point about 12.30pm on Monday 10 November.
It was part of an ongoing investigation into the alleged illegal cultivation of cannabis.
During the search, officers located and seized 83 established plants growing in five rooms of the house.
Electricians also discovered that power to the property had allegedly been re-routed to avoid the meter box.
The 60-year-old was taken to Toronto Police Station and charged with divert/use electricity for generating etc system without authority; enhanced indoor cultivate cannabis for commercial purpose; and cultivate cannabis (greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity).
After being refused bail, he’ll appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Tuesday 11 November.
