Police are appealing for public assistance following reports a man was assaulted with a hammer in Shoal Bay on Anzac Day.
Officers attached to Port Stephens Hunter Police District were called to Shoal Bay Road about 2.30pm on Friday 25 April.
It’s believed a 23-year-old male was treated at the scene for a head injury by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being conveyed to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
