Sadly, two deaths were also reported in the region after a man in his 70s from Maitland and another man in 80s from the Glen Innes Severn area passed away.
Across the district 75 people with COVID-19 are in hospital, with seven requiring care in ICU.
It comes as NSW reported 15,572 new cases and six deaths – four men and two women.
One person was aged in their 70s, three were in their 80s and two were in their 90s.
Four people had received three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine, one person was double jabbed and one person had received one dose.
There are currently 1,418 COVID-19 cases admitted to hospital across the state, including 56 people in intensive care, 18 of whom require ventilation.
In NSW, more than 95% of people aged 16 and over have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 94.6% have received two doses to Saturday 2 April.
NSW Health encourages everyone who is eligible to receive a vaccination or their booster dose to book into a NSW Health vaccination clinic or another provider through the COVID-19 vaccine clinic finder.
