As the world readies itself for the historic coronation of King Charles III this weekend, Maitland City Council will honour the occasion, too.
The organisation is set to acknowledge the event on 6 May, courtesy of several displays around the LGA (local government area).
From Wednesday 3 May, residents and visitors alike can witness His Majesty The King’s cypher displayed on the lawn of the recently-renamed Queen Elizabeth II Park in Maitland, near the Visitor Information Centre.

Then, from Thursday 4 May, Maitland Library will also host a limited time Walls That Talk installation featuring nine iconic photos from the King’s life.
As well, from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 May, the royal colour of purple is scheduled to light up Morpeth Bridge.
Maitland City mayor Philip Penfold said council was “proud to join in the global celebrations of this momentous moment for the monarchy”.
“His Majesty has a long history with Australia, having visited 16 times, including a visit to Maitland in 1983,” he explained.
“So, this is a wonderful opportunity to recognise the occasion by acknowledging the King Charles III and the royal family.”
