Mai-Wel Limited has been named Business of the Year at the 2026 Singleton Business Awards.

It was a big night for Mai-Wel with the disability and employment support service also taking home the Outstanding Not-For-Profit at a gala celebration held earlier this month.

Mai-Wel CEO John Cleary said that the awards were a tacit acknowledgement of Mai-Wel’s impact in the Hunter Region and the dedication of staff.

“There are so many incredible things happening across Singleton, and we are proud to be a part of this community,” Mr Cleary said.

Other big winners on the night included Singleton Tidy Towns which took home the President’s Award and Singleton Neighbourhood Centre Inc. which was awarded Outstanding Community Organisation.

Awards were given across more than 20 categories on the night, and Business Singleton President Anita White said the awards showcased the innovation, resilience and community spirit driving the local business sector.

“Congratulations to every finalist and winner,” Ms White said.

“These awards recognise the dedication, passion and hard work of the people and businesses that help our community thrive. Every entrant should be incredibly proud of their achievements.”

Aside from the awards, Business Singleton also recognised milestone achievements by Redbournberry Clothing Co (15 years), Hunter Urban Dance Studio (15 years), Aplus Contracting & Poly-Welding (20 years) and Yancoal Mount Thorley Warkworth (20 years).
