Love is just the start at Local Connections’ Chef’s Table

There’s always been a sense of romance surrounding the union of food and wine, it is a bond that has survived throughout the ages. 

The right pairing, like a good love affair, can become a sensory delight.

Oysters and Prosecco, duck leg and Shiraz, and burnt peach frangipane with a sticky dessert wine… they’re all partnerships that compliment one another, and they’re all pairings that will feature at this year’s first 2024 Chef’s Table.

The popular event, at Local Connections, will this month be toasting to love on campus.

On Friday 23 February, diners are invited to fall in love with a four-course menu prepared by the group of talented chefs at the unique dining hub.

Using only local produce and local suppliers, the team will be presenting a delight for the senses, featuring the best our region has to offer. 

As guest hosts, Tulloch Wines will transform the table into a cellar door, offering exquisite wines and their tasting notes, together with the romance of the curated menu.

This is your chance to enjoy a Michelin-starred experience in one of the most unexpected locations. 

This could be the perfect date night, or the chance for food lovers to bond over a shared passion. 

The evening’s theme is “Toasting to Love” in homage to Valentine’s Day.  

Tickets are $150 per person, with food and wine being served between 6pm and 9pm. 

Fall in love with some of the best food and wine produced in the Hunter region at the Chef’s Table events.

Chef’s Table is a series of events featuring fresh local produce and some of the Hunter Valley’s best winemakers, located at the Callaghan campus restaurant at University of Newcastle.
