Lose a few with WaistWatchers

You’ll burn more calories than you have all week just laughing at WaistWatchers the Musical!

In a similar vein to the ever-popular Menopause the Musical, which played to a packed house at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre in April, WaistWatchers the Musical! is fast paced with a tonne of energy and heart.

It pokes fun at a number of familiar obsessions, yet ultimately remains uplifting and empowering.

The show follows four women dishing on food, diets, exercise, friendship, love and sex, set in Cook’s Women’s Gym.

There’s Carla, who’s hitting the gym so she can eat more chocolate and ice cream, and Cheryl, who’s hoping to relieve stress from work.

Connie is the novice gym-goer who hopes the workouts will recapture that feeling of youthful sexiness.

And rounding out the quartet is Cindy, recently divorced and looking to tone up now that she’s single and ready to mingle.

As the audience watches the ladies share their lives, they blossom into stronger women who take ownership of their eating, their bodies, their relationships and their self-esteem.

It’s a celebration of the transformative power of female friendship on the journey to self-acceptance.

WaistWatchers the Musical! premiered in Florida in 2013, where it ran for 28 weeks.

It has since toured to a further 16 venues for a total of 90 weeks, and will roll into Cessnock Performing Arts Centre as part of the Australian premiere on Tuesday 9 July at 8pm.

Bookings can be made via cessnockperformingartscentre.com.au or by phone, 4993 4266.
