Another massive crowd is predicted to cheer on the Newcastle Jets in their A-League Men’s (ALM) semi-final showdown at home this weekend.
Following the news that Friday night’s clash between Adelaide United and Auckland FC at Coopers Stadium has sold out, the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) believes it will be a similar story at McDonald Jones Stadium 24 hours later.
Less than 5,000 tickets remain as the hosts prepare to face Sydney FC in the second leg of the play-offs.
After a 1-all draw at Allianz Stadium, in the first showdown, Mark Milligan’s side will look to leverage the hometown advantage on Saturday 16 May.
However, the Sky Blues are hoping a strong travelling contingent will nullify any local support.
“It should be an exciting match if the opening game was anything to go by,” an APL spokesperson said.
“And, of course, there’s a spot in the 2025/26 Isuzu UTE A-League grand final on the line.
“So, the encounter’s anticipated to break Newcastle’s attendance record for the third time this season… and reach the best crowd since the 2018 decider.
“I’m sure the Novocastrians will turn out in droves.”
Tickets for the semi-final second leg in Newcastle are still available via Ticketmaster – from $40 for adults, and $10 for juniors (14 and under).
