The Liberals’ assault on the Hunter Valley continues to take shape with another candidate being unveiled by the party.
Following the recent appointments of City of Newcastle councillor Callum Pull (Wallsend), Thomas Triebsees (Newcastle) and Michael Cooper (Maitland), Megan Anderson will run for the state seat of Swansea, currently held by Labor’s Yasmin Catley.
Residents are due to cast their votes in the NSW Election on Saturday 25 March.
Ms Anderson, endorsed by the Liberals, will draw on her community ties to be a voice for the Dominic Perrottet-led government, which has a focus on easing the pressures on family budgets.
“The Swansea community means so much to me,” she said.
“I am a mother who cares about local issues and will work hard to represent this area.
“This is an important election.
“And, I understand the pressures families are facing with their budgets, that’s why this community needs strong advocacy.
“The Liberal team boasts a range of cost of living vouchers such as Back To School, Active Kids, Creative Kids, First Lap and Energy Saver.
“These schemes are only available as a result of the NSW Government’s economic plan they have put in place.
“And, if you are looking to enter the housing market, First Home Buyers Choice is a comprehensive program, which people can avoid the up-front stamp duty costs.
“These are the initiatives which truly help families.”
Ms Anderson said she had a strong work ethic, too, which would benefit residents.
“I’m also actively involved in the community, including at my local school,” she stated.
“I feel so incredibly passionate about Swansea that I want to represent – and fight for – the electorate in NSW Parliament.”
