A 24-year-old man has been charged with 12 alleged domestic violence offences following an incident at Bolton Point.
Police were called to a home about 3.30pm on Tuesday, 11 August, after reports a domestic violence assault was underway.
Officers forced entry to the property, where OC spray was used to arrest the man.
A woman and child at the home were assessed by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to John Hunter Hospital for further assessment.
Police will allege the man threatened and assaulted the woman and child on several occasions.
It will also be alleged the pair were held against their will at a location in Auburn, in Sydney.
The man was taken to Toronto Police Station and charged with:
- Two counts of being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
- Two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, domestic violence.
- Intentionally choking a person without consent, domestic violence.
- Kidnapping with intent to commit a serious indictable offence occasioning actual bodily harm.
- Two counts of using an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.
- Two counts of stalking or intimidating with the intention of causing fear of physical harm, domestic violence.
- Two counts of common assault, domestic violence.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Wednesday, 12 August.
