Krispy Kreme is opening its first Newcastle outlet within Charlestown Square this week.
To celebrate, on Thursday 3 November, the sweet treat giant is giving away 3,000 Original Glazed doughnuts to the first shoppers instore from 8.30am.

Krispy Kreme is a doughnut business that launched in America in the 1930s.
The first Australian store was opened in Penrith in 2003.
By 2010, there were 40 stores scattered throughout Australia.
There are now thousands located around the world; including Bahrain, Bangladesh, Canada, Egypt, Russia, Taiwan and Turkey.
The multinational brand sells an array of different types of doughnuts including chocolate, jam, glazed, and cinnamon, with options for delectable fillings too – like jam, custard and choc cream.
They can be purchased individually or in a box by the dozen.
Customers can even design their own doughnuts for fundraising purposes.
Over the years there have been many articles published in which the author attempts to rank Krispy Kreme doughnuts in order of preference – such is the popularity of the brand.
In fact, in August 2022 the business was said to have a net worth of $USD375.2 million.
