Knights extend deal with talented hooker Harrison Graham

Newcastle Knights young gun Harrison Graham has impressed all and sundry, with the club extending his contract with the organisation.

As a result, the gifted hooker will be upgraded to the Top 30 NRL squad for 2027.

It comes after the 24-year-old was named on the interchange for the team’s round 10 clash with the St George Illawarra Dragons on Saturday 9 May.

Graham’s provided good service and spark in six appearances this season.

And, he gives coach Justin Holbrook additional options under the new interchange format.

“Harrison has fitted in perfectly in his first 12 months here at the club,” he said.

“He suits our DNA.

“He’s hardworking and very popular with the players and staff.

“So, we are thrilled he has decided to stay with the Knights.

“It is a great outcome for our club… and for Harrison and his family.”

Newcastle’s head of recruitment Peter O’Sullivan echoed Holbrook’s sentiments.

“Harrison’s earned the contract upgrade due to his work ethic and form,” he said.

“He backed himself to come to the Knights on an NRL Development deal, working tirelessly in the off-season to set a platform for a big year, and he has excelled so far in 2026.

“Despite several clubs chasing his signature, Harrison shares our vision for the future.

“He’s chosen to stay and play his part in Newcastle’s success moving forward.

“Harrison loves this town and this club.

“His strong connection with the playing group, staff and the community were among the many reasons he chose to remain a Knight.”

Meanwhile, Newcastle faces the winless St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium, Wollongong, from 3pm.

The Knights are on a high after knocking over the South Sydney Rabbitohs in a thriller, while the Dragons remained anchored on the bottom of the ladder.
