Jobs: In-home carers needed for festive season

SHARE

While thousands of Hunter residents are expected to travel this Christmas, some of our region’s most vulnerable are expected to feel a sense of loneliness and isolation within their own homes.

And, while the festive season is thought to be a magical time of year for most, for the increasing number of older Australians opting to live independently in their home, it can be very daunting.

That’s why in-home care provider Home Instead is seeking 30 more caregivers to join their team.

Home Instead employs and trains people to provide in-home care to support older Australians to continue living safely and independently in their own home.

Owner and director of Home Instead Newcastle and Central Coast Jasmine Hopcraft says she is needing compassionate and dedicated staff so many in her team can take long-awaited holidays.

“Never before has there been a greater demand for caregivers in our industry than the lead up to Christmas this year,” she said.

Home Instead Newcastle office requires 30 more caregivers to join our team and ensure our clients receive the best care and companionship this Christmas.

“We are committed to developing our caregivers and they are personally matched to clients based on their individual personalities, needs and wants.

“We provide 24/7 support, expert training and are passionate about what we do.”

Home Instead boasts more than 40 franchise offices, employing over 4000 people across Australia.

It’s services include assistance with personal care, light household duties, meal preparation, medication reminders, and transport to appointments, shopping and social outings.

The group offers flexible working hours and provides the training required to become a qualified caregiver, following a learning pathway mapped to a Certificate III in Individual Support, an industry recognised qualification.
