Jimmys Beach ups the stakes with $5 million upgrade

SHARE

Work is currently underway on a $5 million upgrade to holiday park Jimmys Beach at Hawks Nest… just in time for summer.

The latest enhancements to the development, north of Port Stephens, include a premium eco-cabin precinct, glamping tents, a luxury pool and high-speed Wi-Fi for entertainment and business.

“This investment in quality accommodation on Crown Land will attract more visitors and strengthen regional tourism and business spending,” Parliamentary Secretary for the Hunter Taylor Martin said.

“The NSW Government recently announced $28 million in loan funding to support upgrades to Reflections Holiday Parks.

“It will also assist the group’s new Strategic Plan to boost regional tourism and economies, so we can expect to see more investments like this.”

The park upgrades will be completed in early November and include:

  • A large, luxury saltwater pool
  • Nine solar-powered premium cabins based on Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) principles, including an all-access cabin with a ramp to the pool area for people with a disability
  • Two glamping beach tents lifting the number to five available for bookings
  • An upgrade of internet with individual Wi-Fi access points to provide cabin guests with more entertainment options and enable working on site, a growing trend among domestic tourists

Reflections Holiday Parks CEO Nick Baker said Jimmys Beach attracted about 50,000 visitors each year.

They, in turn, inject approximately $2.2 million into the region.

But, that will grow when the park upgrades are completed by November, according to Mr Baker.

“The humble caravan park has come a long way from basic amenities, caravans and tents,” he said.

“Jimmys Beach is set to elevate the holiday park experience with a range of caravan, camping and accommodation options including premium luxury experiences.

“More travellers are holidaying closer to home.

“So, it is important we provide a diverse range of accommodation and really lift our parks so people can get the holiday experience they want.

“Jimmys Beach is in a perfect location for weekend getaways from Sydney and Newcastle and our new redevelopment will take the park to that next level that our guests are expecting.”
