The Hunter’s recent lucky streak is continuing with another major lottery windfall landing in the region.
In the past fortnight, more than $4 million has flowed into the area, after a Taylors Beach man discovered he’d also won $894,879.56 at the weekend.
Two days ago, an Edgeworth resident picked up a cool $1 million playing Weekday Windfall.
That followed a Keno Classic 10 spot, worth $1,131,353.80, touching down in Port Stephens, 24 hours after a Toronto local walked away with a similar bounty.
The latest recipient held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Lotto draw 4517 on 2 November.
While the winner took three days to discover their good fortune, if they had registered their entry to a player card or online account, they would have been united with their prize earlier.
Instead, officials from The Lott had been eagerly waiting for the mystery ticketholder to come forward.
“It’s a dream come true,” he said when finally contacted.
“I can’t explain how it feels, it’s seriously like I’m still living in a dream.
“We’re very grateful, we buy one or two tickets each week but this one came through.
“We’re definitely going to buy our first home. That’s the plan.
“Wow, I never thought I’d be able to say that.
“It’s going to help me and my family so much. You have no idea.
“My wife and I are just about to enjoy a nice meal and wine to celebrate.
“Thank you so much.”
The man’s winning entry was purchased at newsXpress Salamander Bay in the Salamander Centre.
Staff member Rachel Cordingley said the team was thrilled to see a regular customer take home a division one prize.
“It’s so exciting. I may be just as excited as the winner,” she laughed.
”I sold the ticket which made me even more jubilant.
“It was to a local gentleman who shops here all the time.
“The team and I couldn’t be happier for him.
“Our outlet last sold a division one winning entry in July, also in Saturday Lotto.
“Hopefully, our streak continues.
“Congratulations to our lucky local and we wish you all the best with your prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4517 were 18, 6, 42, 10, 1 and 3, with the supplementaries 5 and 40.
