Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have released additional imagery as they continue to investigate a jewellery store robbery in the Hunter region.

Just before 9.30am on Wednesday 6 July, officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were called to a shopping centre on Molly Morgan Drive, East Maitland.

It followed reports of a robbery at a jewellery store.

On arrival, police were told a male approached the store and used a Toolpro multi-tool emergency hammer to smash the glass of a cabinet, before fleeing the scene with three items worth approximately $107,000.

A crime scene was established, and initial inquiries were conducted by local police, before detectives attached to the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad took carriage of the matter under Strike Force Malwood.

As investigations continue, investigators have released additional CCTV images of two men and a vehicle of interest, all of which police believe may be able to assist them further.

A male, dressed in dark clothing, is seen in the nearby area riding an orange and white dirt bike a short time after the robbery.

A 2011 white Jaguar XF sedan was later observed following the bike, with a man seen exiting the vehicle and speaking to the dirt bike rider shortly after.

The second male is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid-30s, with red shoulder length hair.

He is depicted wearing black pants, black shoes and a grey long-sleeved shirt with a black motif on the back.

Investigations under Strike Force Malwood are ongoing.

Anyone with information that may assist detectives is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.
