Motorists will face changed overnight traffic conditions between New Lambton Heights and Kotara this week.

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is installing survey equipment along Lookout Road, Jacaranda Drive, Kookaburra Circuit, McCaffrey Drive, Grandview Road, Charlestown Road, Main Road, Cardiff Road and Carnley Avenue.

But, to reduce the impact on road-users, the work’s scheduled from 8pm on Tuesday 3 November to 5am on Wednesday 4 December.

Lane and shoulder closures with traffic control and a 40km/h speed limit may be in place while tube counters and the camera equipment are installed.

Meanwhile, construction continues along the M1 Pacific Motorway extension to Raymond Terrace at Tarro.

Work will be carried out at night at the following locations:

• From 7pm to 5am on Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 December, the eastbound off ramp from the New England Highway to Anderson Drive is closed with a detour in place via New England Highway/Maitland Road
• From 7pm to 5am on Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 December, the John Renshaw Drive slip lane (westbound from New England Highway) will be closed with a detour in place via Weakleys Drive to John Renshaw Drive and the M1 Motorway (Please note this detour is unsuitable for vehicles operating on the SPV Level 6, SPV Level 4 and 12t/ axle and SPV Level networks). Over-size over-mass (OSOM) vehicles and special purpose vehicles will be escorted through the closure
• From 7pm to 5am on Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Thursday 5 December, Tomago Road is closed at the intersection with the Pacific Highway, with a detour in place to allow installation of new traffic signals. Motorists will be detoured via Old Punt Road to access Tomago Road from the Pacific Highway during this time

Operators of OSOM vehicles with a ground contact wider than 3.2 metres or with overall width greater than 4.5 metres are advised to phone the project team on 0423 323 946 at least one day ahead of the proposed movement.

Significant delays can occur if they fail to do so.

Work is also slated across the remainder of the project from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm Saturday; and 7pm to 5am Monday to Friday.

It will require lane closures with intermittent stoppages and temporary speed reductions to 40km/h at the following locations and times:

From 7pm to 5am, on the nights of Monday 2 December to Friday 6 December:

• M1 Pacific Motorway at Beresfield and Black Hill
• John Renshaw Drive at Beresfield
• New England Highway at Tarro
• Pacific Highway at Tomago and Heatherbrae
• Old Punt Road near Pacific Highway at Tomago

From 7am to 5pm, Monday 2 December to Friday 6 December:

• Lenaghans Drive at Black Hill
• Old Punt Road near Pacific Highway at Tomago
• New England Highway Eastbound at Tarro

Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and follow the directions of signs and traffic controllers.
