The driver of a wedding minibus, which lost control and rolled in the Hunter Valley, has been issued with a fine for negligent driving.

Emergency services were called to Mount View Road about 10.30am on Wednesday 30 July following reports of a single-vehicle crash near Bellbird.

At the scene, NSW Ambulance paramedics, NSW Police, NSW Fire and Rescue and NSW Rural Fire Service personnel located a Toyota HiAce approximately 40 metres down an embankment.

The occupants included the driver – a 73-year-old man – and five passengers, all men – including the groom – aged 52, 54 and three 57.

Two of them were reported to be in a critical condition and transported to John Hunter Hospital via helicopter.

One man suffered head trauma, with emergency services taking 45 minutes to cut him out of the minibus, and another with injuries to his limbs.

The other four were conveyed to John Hunter Hospital by road for further assessment and treatment.

A crime scene was established by Hunter Valley Police District soon after, with the matter under investigation by the Crash Investigation Unit.

And, following inquiries, the 73-year-old driver was issued with an infringement notice for negligent driving.
