The hunter born building company has cemented its place among the states largest residential builders following a year of significant growth.
Heatherbrae-based Hunter Homes has been named the 15th largest residential builder in NSW in the housing Industry Association’s latest Housing 100 report.
The locally founded company also climbed 30 places nationally, moving from 83rd to equal 53rd among Australia’s largest residential builder.
For a company that began in the Hunter, managing director Jason Smith said the result represented more than a number on a national list.
“To be recognised among the 15 largest builders in NSW is something we’re incredibly proud of, particularly when you look at how far we’ve come,” he said.
“But for us, growth has never just been about building more homes. It’s about making sure we continue to deliver the quality, value and experience our customers expect from us.”
While its roots remain firmly in the region, Hunter Homes has expanded its footprint across regional NSW, now building throughout the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter, Mid North Coast, New England and Northern NSW.
The Hunter remains a major part of its operations, with the company’s head office at Heatherbrae and another office in Newcastle.
Mr Smith said the milestone was also recognition of the local trades, suppliers and partners who had contributed to the company’s growth.
“We’ve got a great team behind the business and an incredible network of local trades, suppliers and partners who have played a huge part in getting us to where we are today,” he said.
Hunter Homes was one of three Hunter-based companies to feature prominently in the latest Housing 100.
NEX Building Group climbed to third nationally after commencing 3,585 homes, while Belmont-based Montgomery Homes ranked 80th with 151 starts.
Despite expanding beyond its home region, Mr Smith said maintaining the company’s local identity remained a priority.
“We’re proud of the growth but we don’t want to lose what got us here,” he said.
“Being ranked #15 in NSW is a great moment for our team, but a milestone like this gives us plenty of motivation for what comes next.”
