If you thought you were living in a “winning” area, then you’d be right… that’s according to the people from Keno.
The latest data from the company reveals the Hunter and Central Coast took out the top spot for the region with the most wins and prizemoney.
Keno recently crunched the statistics on the game’s successes between 2018 and 2021.
It can now exclusively disclose the postcodes, venues and areas where the most wins landed in NSW and the ACT.
During the four-year period, more than 50 million victors collectively took home in excess of $791 million in prizemoney.
The list comes as Keno celebrates 30 years in NSW.
But, the luckiest region was the Hunter and Central Coast, which boasted more than 11 million wins totalling over $177 million.
The North Coast and Mid-North Coast (nine million and $149 million) placed second, ahead of Illawarra and South East NSW (seven million and $112 million).
The latest research also highlighted the postcodes in NSW that experienced the most Keno wins.
The 2261 address – Bateau Bay, Long Jetty, The Entrance, Chittaway Bay, Shelly Beach, Ourimbah, Tumbi Umbi) secured fourth spot with a total win count of 705,696 ($11,455,102.50), in front of 2324 (Hawks Nest, Karuah, Tea Gardens, Raymond Terrace) with 690,119 ($9,418,083.30); 2250 (West Gosford, Central Mangrove, Gosford East, Kariong, Wyoming, Niagara Park, Gosford, Gosford West, Erina) with 594,079; and 2257 (Ettalong Beach, Empire Bay, Umina, Ettalong, Umina Beach, Ettalong Beach) with 542,436.
Meanwhile, the Belmont 16s placed 10th among the venues where the most Keno wins occurred with 227,831.
The local locations, within the top 10, that handed out the greatest prizemoney included the Toronto Hotel (fifth – $6,566,717.60) and Beresfield Bowling Club (10th – $4,505,851.50).
Keno spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was eagerly waiting to contact the next big winner.
“During the past four years, we’ve seen some impressive jackpots won by our players in NSW and the ACT,” she stated.
“A tradie from Northumberland made history in 2018 when he scored the biggest Keno jackpot ever and walked away with almost $8 million.
“As you can imagine, he was stoked.
“From tradies relaxing during their lunch break to friends catching up for dinner, a Keno win can happen at any time.
“Every major winner has had their own unique story of how their win came to be and what they planned to do with their prize.
“With the chance to win a Keno prize roughly every three minutes, we’re just waiting to see who wins big next.”
While a Keno win could land anywhere, Ms Ramsamy admitted some regions had enjoyed more prizemoney than others over the past four years.
“From time to time, we see pockets of wins in the same region or postcode,” she said.
“Between 2018 and 2021, we saw hotspots range from bustling city centres to regional areas and smaller towns, proving that a win can land anywhere and at any time.
“It will be interesting if their strike rates continue in 2022.”
