The Housing Industry Association (HIA) has appointed a new president for the Hunter region.
Executive director Craig Jennion welcomed Le Mottee Group managing director and Port Stephens deputy mayor Paul Le Mottee to the position.
“A Hunter-based surveyor and certifier with more than 30 years’ experience, Paul is the HIA Hunter’s sixth regional president,” he said.
“For the next two years Paul, along with newly-elected vice-president Greg Doodson of Suncoast Bathroom Renovations and 10 other HIA members, will form the Hunter Regional Executive Committee.
“Its role is to represent the local region, assist in the development of HIA policies and provide a forum to deal with regional issues.
“With a strong understanding of the challenges those in the residential building and construction industry face, I’m certain that Paul will successfully lead the industry-diverse HIA Hunter Regional Executive Committee.”
Mr Le Mottee admitted it was a “great honour” to be elected to lead the committee.
“I hope to build on the legacy of previous Hunter region presidents by strengthening the capacity and capability of both the association and its members,” he said.
“I look forward to working with the new Hunter Regional Executive Committee to develop policies and approaches that ensure that we retain a competitive residential housing industry, something which is critical to the economic wellbeing and growth of not only the Hunter but NSW more broadly.”
