Despite additional lanes opening on the Hexham Straight, construction continues along Maitland Road this week to enhance the widening project.
To minimise any impact to motorists, it’s planned overnight from 7pm to 5am:
- Traffic will be in a contraflow arrangement on the southbound lanes of Maitland Road and a temporary reduced speed of 40km/h will be in place from north of Old Maitland Road to Sparke Street on Tuesday 11 November, Wednesday 12 November and Thursday 13 November
Operators of over-size over-mass (OSOM) vehicles with a ground contact wider than 3.4m or with an overall width greater than 4.5m are advised to contact the team at least one day ahead of movement on 1800 515 141.
Significant delays will occur if they fail to do so.
Major work on other parts of the venture resume from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 7pm to 7am Sunday to Thursday; and between 8am and 1pm on Saturday.
Motorists are advised to follow the directions of signs and controllers, use alternative routes where possible or allow up to 15 minutes extra travel time.

It includes:

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes where possible to avoid delays
- From Friday 14 November, there will be changes to the lane merges from northbound John Renshaw Drive to New England Highway at Beresfield. Motorists are urged to drive with caution and follow all signage
- Between 7pm and 5am, from now until Thursday 20 November, work will take place on both the northbound and southbound carriageways of the Pacific Highway, requiring a temporary lane closure and a reduced speed limit from 80 km/h to 40 km/h on the northbound and 70 km/h to 40 km/h on the southbound between Richardson Road and Masonite Road
Meanwhile, construction carries on across the project from 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday; 8am to 5pm on Saturday; and from 7pm to 5am Monday to Friday.
